Catarina King – Cofounder (Society 1)
Catarina King cofounded Society 1, a co-working space in Preston, with Brendan King and Christopher Ruppert. Their collective backgrounds range from catering to travel and hospitality. Their varied careers span the UK, France, Germany and Australia. They are a dynamic team and passionate about bringing co-working to Lancashire.
They took the family restaurant building, the Alpenhof in Preston, and converted it in to a large open plan work space across 3 floors, designed for freelance and start-up businesses. 12 months later Society 1 plays a crucial role in the development of Lancashire’s ecosystem for creative enterprise.
In 2017 Society 1 and Creative Lancashire launched Let’s Talk, a series of events to address current issues relevant to creative practitioners – hosted by Catarina King.
